This past weekend, our community at MBC had the immense pleasure of hosting Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe for an enriching series of teachings and celebrations. From Friday, July 26, to Sunday, July 28, Khenpo la graced us with his wisdom, marking a milestone in his 20 years of teaching at MBC.
The weekend was filled with profound insights and heartfelt moments. Khenpo la’s teachings delved into the depths of the Dharma, providing our community with invaluable guidance on integrating these principles into our daily lives. His words resonated with all attendees, from long-time practitioners to newcomers, reminding us of the timeless relevance of the Buddha’s teachings.
Sunday’s session was particularly special as Khenpo la dedicated time to a family and kids’ session. This unique gathering offered a wonderful opportunity for our younger members and their families to engage with the Dharma in a fun and accessible way. Khenpo la’s gentle and compassionate approach made the teachings relatable and inspiring for children, fostering a sense of community and shared learning among families.
The highlight of the weekend was the celebration of Khenpo la’s 20th anniversary of teaching at MBC. We commemorated this milestone with heartfelt gratitude, honouring his unwavering dedication and profound impact on our community. It was a moment of reflection on the countless lives he has touched and the wisdom he has imparted over the past two decades.
On a sad note, members were shocked to hear of the sudden death of our dear Dharma friend Peter Tooth on Thursday 25/7. During the weekend, many prayers, Medicine Buddha mantras, and good wishes were directed towards Peter and Vasi. We will continue the prayers for Peter over the next 49 days during our weekly Soor practice.
We are deeply grateful to Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe for his continued guidance and inspiration. This weekend was a testament to the strength and unity of our sangha, and we look forward to many more years of learning and growing together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable weekend. Your presence and participation made it truly special. May the Dharma continue to flourish, bringing peace and wisdom to all.
