Call for Volunteers: Special Religious Education (SRE) Teachers Needed
We are currently seeking additional Special Religious Education (SRE) teachers to join our team at Milton Public School, Ulladulla Public School, and Ulladulla High School. By becoming an SRE teacher, you’ll have the opportunity to share the teachings of Buddhism with young students, making a positive impact in their lives.
To become an SRE teacher, you will need to apply for your NSW Working with Children accreditation, which can be completed online. After that, you’ll undergo a training course provided by The Buddhist Council of NSW, ensuring you are well-prepared for your role.
Having more SRE teachers is essential to ensure that we always have enough support, especially during times when our current teachers may be unavailable due to holidays, illness, or other commitments.
Teaching SRE is a rewarding experience that not only enriches the lives of students but also offers personal growth and fulfilment. If you would like to make a meaningful contribution to the community, we encourage you to consider volunteering for this valuable role.
Teaching Compassion and Mindfulness: Our Volunteers in SRE Classes
At Manjushri Buddhist Centre, we are deeply committed to bringing the teachings of Buddhism into local schools through our Special Religious Education (SRE) classes. This initiative has been made possible by the incredible generosity of our community, enabling us to make a significant impact on young minds.
Educational Excursions
Through generous donations, we have sponsored local school children on educational excursions. These trips allow children to explore the world beyond their classrooms, experiencing new places and learning in a dynamic and engaging way. These excursions have been filled with joy and excitement, broadening the horizons of young learners.
Special Religious Education Classes
Our SRE classes have been a highlight for both high school and primary school students. These classes focus on teachings centred around compassion, mindfulness, and kindness. The students have shown remarkable eagerness and sincerity in embracing these values, which are essential for their personal and spiritual development.
Role of Our Volunteers
The success of our SRE program is largely due to the dedication of our volunteers. These passionate individuals bring the wisdom of Buddhism into the classroom, helping to instil important values in students. Their commitment ensures that the teachings of compassion, mindfulness, and kindness are effectively communicated and embraced by young minds.
Future Initiatives
Looking ahead, we are excited to continue and expand our SRE program. Expressions of interest are open for SRE volunteering, offering unique opportunities to engage with our community in meaningful ways. Your participation contributes to the growth and vibrancy of MBC. If you would like to be involved in this program, please don’t hesitate to send us a message.
Gratitude and Future Impact
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed or supported our cause. Your kindness and generosity have helped shape a brighter future for these young minds. We invite everyone to join us in this important endeavour, as we continue to create a positive impact in our community.
Together, we can bring the teachings of compassion, mindfulness, and kindness to more children, fostering a more compassionate and mindful future for all.
